Homework
Please purchase one bottle from each style for evaluation. The following beers will be tasted in the next lesson.
4A Saint Pauli Girl Dark , 4B Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel, 4C Köstritzer Schwarzbier
In addition please purchase some white wine vinegar (grocery) and some latic acid (wine makers supply store). We will begin our exploration of off-flavors in the next class.
We also need light beer, with a low level of flavor, to use as a base beer for off-flavors. I would avoid Bud (Acetaldehyde) or Rolling-Rock (DMS), but any other Category 1 beer should be fine. Get a 12 pack, we will use it over the rest of the course.
If you cannot find these beers please select another from the Recorded Classic Styles list or the Classic Styles listed under each style in the Style Guide.
